M ~ Sun Rays Jacket
This lightweight cotton canvas jacket has been hand painted with a sun motif inspired by victorian maps and wood blocks. It was then dyed in a strong bath of marigolds and turmeric and left to soak for two days to achieve a strong, vibrant and positively powerful yellow. Turmeric is medicinal when absorbed into the body as it is rich in anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. This rich color may bleed slightly before it's first wash, so wearing white underneath the jacket is not recommended.
21" wide x 24" long. two small hand pockets, two chest pockets. metal zipper, metal button cuffs.
This clothing item has been thrifted, (and cleaned, scoured, hand dyed and/or painted, and washed again) to eliminate support of new textiles production. Imperfections and color variations exist, each item is one of a kind and hand dyed in Colorado, USA. Inks are handmade, plant and mineral based, ethically grown and sourced, chemical & plastic free, safe for skin, and biodegradable.
